Theme Coworking FAQ

The practical facts about playing, saving, learning, and the people behind the game.

What is Theme Coworking?

Theme Coworking is a free, single-player browser management game. You build and operate a coworking space while balancing member experience, community, staff, services, reputation, and cash flow.

Is Theme Coworking free?

Yes. It is free to play in a modern web browser, with no download required.

Who created Theme Coworking?

Dimitar Inchev, also known as @idmtr, created the game. Dimitar is a co-founder of Coworkies. The game was developed as a Coworkies Labs experiment with coworking expertise informed by TwoFifty.

Do I need an account to play?

No. You can play offline and keep saves in your browser without creating an account. An optional account enables cloud saves.

Where are my saves stored?

Offline saves live in your browser's local storage. Clearing site data or changing browsers can remove those local saves. Optional authenticated cloud saves can synchronize save slots.

What do I manage?

You design rooms, place furniture, hire and train staff, set membership prices, select vendors, run marketing campaigns, host events, respond to incidents, maintain the space, watch your profit and loss, and keep a varied member community satisfied.

Is it realistic?

It is a game, not financial forecasting software. Its systems are simplified for clarity and fun, but many mechanics are based on recurring coworking realities: membership mix, retention, staffing, hospitality, events, shared services, maintenance, reputation, and the tension between experience and profitability.

Why was the game made?

To explain coworking through play, show that it is more than renting desks, make the work of community managers visible, and help players understand how spaces serve people while remaining sustainable. Read all 27 reasons.

Is it affiliated with Theme Hospital?

No. Theme Coworking is an independent project inspired by classic management games, including Theme Hospital. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by their publishers or rights holders.

Can I use it in a class, workshop, or team session?

You can play the public game freely and link participants to the player guide. For facilitated sessions, research, partnerships, or custom collaborations, contact Dimitar through idmtr.com or TwoFifty.

Where can I learn every mechanic?

The complete player guide covers controls, scenarios, building, economy, staff, services, marketing, events, satisfaction, people, formulas, and strategy.
